Carbonetic Single/Twin/Triple Plate Clutches
Do Carbonetic clutches slip when cold?
Our Carbon clutches do not slip when they are cold.
Does your clutch have an on/off feel, are they aggressive?
Not at all our clutches are the easiest to control, they almost feel stock in feel, very easy to modulate in all conditions.
How long until I can use the clutch to its full potential?
We recommend a bed in time of 800-1000 miles and avoid drag launches until bedded in or you will warp the pressure plates.
Are Carbonetic clutches easy to fit?
We advise the clutches to be fitted by a qualified mechanic. It’s imperative that fitting instructions are followed page by page. We strongly advise you to have your Carbonetic clutch fitted by your nearest Carbonetic dealer.
Do I need to buy anything else when I purchase the clutch?
No all kits come with everything you need to fit to your vehicle, unless otherwise stated
Should I warm up the clutch before a drag launch?
Yes you should, in order to minimize damage to the metal parts of the clutch you need to do a warm up procedure – this is documented in the operating instruction manual.
What is a Pro Spec?
A Pro-Spec is a single plate clutch, not to be confused with the Blade. The Pro Spec uses a single carbon plate, comes complete with a light weight flywheel, cover, all items needed for fitting.
Are Carbonetic clutches fully serviceable?
Even though our clutches are designed for longevity there are times where you may want to refresh parts of the clutch. Carbonetic clutches are fully re-buildable with every part available.
Can I change my Twin plate into a triple plate?
Yes you can, the beauty of our clutches is that many parts are interchangeable. To convert your twin into a triple you will need 1 carbon plate, 1 pressure plate and 1 intermediate plate. Its advised you check the condition of the other plates before you do this, please read the overhaul manual.
Do you supply an RB30 flywheel?
Yes we can supply an RB30 flywheel.
Do you offer different Hubs, for example Holinger?
Yes we do, we supply hub fitments for Holinger, HKS, OS and Trust.

Are the Carbonetic LSD’s noisy in operation?
Not at all, our LSD’s are almost OEM quiet.
Do the LSD’s need to be bedded in?
Yes it does, we recommend you do about 180 miles and then change the LSD oil to remove any of the carbon deposits. Our technical section informs you about the bedding in.
What oil do I have to use, can I use normal LSD oil?
No we do not recommend standard oil with the Carbon LSD, we suggestion using the Carbonetic Oil available from your local Carbonetic dealer <- Link to dealers
Are the LSD’s re-buildable?
Yes they are, we hold full stock of every part need to rebuild and service the LSD.
Do the LSD’s last longer than a metal LSD?
Yes they do, their service life is far greater that a metal LSD compared to metal the Carbon LSD last ten times longer.
Can you tell me more about 1.5 way, 1.8 way and 2 way LSD’s?
If you go to our LSD page you will find out more information.
Blade Clutch
What is a Blade Clutch?
The blade clutch is the worlds first OEM fit Carbon paddle clutch.
Will this fit on to my standard flywheel?
Yes it will the clutch is designed as a direct OEM fit
Should I skim my flywheel when fitting this clutch?
If the flywheel clutch/friction surface is in poor condition we do not recommend skimming the surface of the flywheel. Skimming the clutch/friction area of the flywheel could lead to early clutch failure or clutch slip.
What are the brass looking fitments on the clutch, why do they protrude further than the Carbon friction material?
This is a special material that was developed for the blade clutch, because Carbon is far harder wearing than metal, this material is there to help bed in the clutch quickly and protect the flywheel.
Can I buy just the blade paddle?
Yes you can, you do not have to buy the complete kit, you can just buy the blade paddle clutch
Is the blade only available for Japanese vehicles?
No, we are developing the clutch for many types of European applications, including Porsche, BMW, Renault, Peugeot, VW, Audi, Skoda and Citroen.
How much power can it handle?
They are tested to 450 BHP but it all depends on pressure plate and type of vehicle, email for more details
