JRM's Group N Evo X Rally CarCarbonetic join forces with JRM’s Group N Evo X rally car

With the recent release of the Carbonetic Blade clutch, Carbonetic really wanted to see under what conditions the clutch would take and also excel at.

Carbonetic had the opportunity to work with JRM/Ralliart Evo X and this was something that could not be turned down.

The Evo X is running a standard Carbonetic 4 paddle Blade clutch with an up rated Ralliart cover plate.

On March the 28th, the team had their first outing at the MSA British rallying championship, proved a very promising start for them; David Bogie brought the car home in 5th place.

And importantly for us, the new Blade clutch was loved by the drivers and the team; it performed faultlessly through the first round. For a Clutch that was only going to be used for a few events, we are pleased to see its still being used 800km later.

We asked the team if they could measure the wear of the clutch and to our surprise only 0.1 mm wear had taken place, which is great when you are putting way more than 450 ft lb of torque through it.

Also keep an eye out for further developments with the Carbonetic and the JRM Evo X

DMS RacingDMS Racing DC2 round 1 & 2 Nippon Challenge Series

Some news from one of the teams we sponsor, DMS racing had a great result in round 1&2 in the Nippon Challenge race series.

After a depressing year in 2008 with engine reliability problems with the B20 engine, Hybrid racing and DMF Performance decide to use a K20 in their JDM DC2.

They decided to rebuild the car from scratch again from new paint work, engine, roll cage, chassis upgrade with full K20 conversion, they started their new project in mid February our car was completed within 2 weeks. With our new engine from DMF performance fitted and mapped by Artech tuning. The engine was pushing 242bhp and after a testing session at Brands hatch they are very happy with the new car.

So the first race event is up, we got to the track on Friday afternoon with everything setup on the track and we settle down for the night ready for the battle on Saturday.

Carbonetic sponsored but they are running the Carbonetic 1.5 way Carbon LSD and they are also running the Carbonetic Twin plate clutch.

I asked Dixon, who is the driver of the car to comment on the Carbonetic LSD and what his own personal thoughts were, this is what he had to say:

"The different between the Carbonetic diff and the Kazz diff is the Carbonetic diff is more progressive. The Kazz metal plate was good but way too aggressive, is too on/off and you have to be more careful with the throttle during the corner, with the Carbonetic one I can use the throttle to control the backend movement to get the car slide into the corner. Specially in high speed corner, the front end will just pull into the apex as soon as I hit the throttle and in low speed they don't make noise like the normal metal plate diff."

News Alert! Carbonetic UK Sponsors Eric O’Sullivan for 2009 season

Eric O'SullivanEric O’Sullivan is one of Europe’s top drifters, culminating his invitation to the first Red Bull Drifting World Championships’ event in Long beach. This year is set to be another top year for the Dublin-based driver. After two extremely successful years in his AE86 Corolla the time has come to replace and upgrade many of the components. With another 100BHP being extracted from the Honda engine, many parts needed up grading to cope with the power hike, the first of which is the clutch assembly.

Carbonetic are delighted to be sponsoring Eric for the 2009 season and will be following his progress and giving their full support

Eric was asked how he felt about being sponsored by Carbonetic and this is what he had to say. “I am delighted to have Carbonetic on board as a new sponsor to the team and I am confident that with its extensive knowledge of these extraordinary clutches I will have many more trouble-free and successful seasons in the Corolla.

Eric’s Corolla is using a Carbonetic Pro-spec single plate clutch with a 1600KG pressure plate, these clutches can hold 520PS.

Good luck for the 2009 Season!
